Probably one of the most successful internet businesses in history is Amazon.com. There are a number of reasons for this and the most obvious is the fact that Amazon provided a solution to people's needs. That need was the ability to purchase books online easily and conveniently and a criteria for putting original content online for Amazon. Since Amazon's name remains so recognizable it would seem that the site does not have to employ much advertising in order to stimulate sales. Actually, Amazon does a lot to stimulate interest in its products and some of those methods are not always obvious.

For example, Amazon.com is loaded with reviews on the various books that it sells. These reviews are provided by Amazon customers who are allowed to submit their commentary and opinion on various products. On the surface, is obvious that good reviews can help move books while bad ones can inhibit such movement. However, there is much more going on than what meets the eye. Because Amazon routinely publishes new reviews many visitors will repeatedly return to the site. Each time they return to the site they may potentially make a purchase, another criteria for putting content online. When we break this down into a numbers game we realize that someone who only visits the site twice a year can only be a customer a maximum of two times. However, if the person visits a website 100 times a year then it is possible they could make 100 purchases. The criteria for putting original content online employed here is that Amazon.com seeks to bring its customers back time and time again through the perpetual addition of new reviews.

Now, what is good for Amazon.com is also good for your website. That is, if you have solid content on your website that is repeatedly updated then you will have a number of returning visitors. Just as repeat visitors to Amazon can become potential repeat customers, your repeat visitors could become customers as well. The criteria for putting original content online here is that frequently updated content stimulates traffic, which, in turn, can stimulate repeat purchases.

This is why a software program that can frequently upload new original content to your site is so valuable. It makes adding content to a passive venture that reaps enormous rewards. Actually, passive may not be the right word. Perhaps, automated would be a more apt description. Ultimately, the end result is the same: your site gains new and useful articles that stimulate repeat visits. These repeat visitors often turn into a solid customer base for your online venture.
