Website traffic is good. It's especially good if it's the right sort of traffic---traffic that converts from browser to buyer. Here are five ways you can get some traffic that could convert for you:

Create content
Off page optimization
Social marketing
Commenting
Pay Per Click Campaigns

Creating Content

Don't leave your website static. New content really does pay off. Website content drives new traffic to your site. It is a great way to help you optimize your site for the words and phrases that your target audience could be searching for. If someone is looking to buy something online, they're going to search for information about buying it. If your website has valuable content on it, that content could drive the right sorts of visitors to the site. Those visitors could buy from you. Every time you create content, new traffic could be sent your way. Search engines don't bother to visit static sites. They are hungry for new content so optimize your website with well-written and informative content that's keyword optimized on a regular basis. You'll climb the ranks for your niche!

Off Page Optimizing

Traffic comes from the aforementioned method of on site content development but when you do optimizing activities that point TO your site, this helps too. Each link that points to your site could point potential customers your way. And, if you're strategic about how you do this off page optimization, search engines will perceive your site as more relevant to your niche market. That could help you get excellent organic listings.

Social Marketing

Social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and other sites read links. Plenty of linking that points to the pages of your site could improve your page rankings. And, people read those links, too. Use these tools to drive potential customers to your sales and landing pages where you can work on that lead and hopefully make a sale.

Commenting

Commenting on blogs in your niche could drive traffic to your site. By posting on relevant websites, you're connecting your site even deeper to your topic. This is especially true if your comments get published on a relevant site with a better Google page rank than yours. People and search engines could follow those comments and links. Commenting on blogs for the purposes of SEO (search engine optimization) and traffic is a bit of an art. Learn to be a comment artist so your comments don't get deleted by the blog owner or picked up by their spam filter.

PPC Campaigns

Many search engine marketing campaigns revolve around organic SEO and while most agree that, like the food, the organic SEO is best --- many successful online businesses have aggressive SEM (search engine marketing) campaigns. The right mix of organic and paid results could drive targeted traffic to your website.

Whatever you choose to focus on, consistently working to increase your targeted traffic can help you achieve your online goals.
