You may have the greatest sales copy in the world. You might even have a website that would make the best webmasters jaw drop in awe. You might even have a product to sell that's the best thing since sliced bread, but if no one knows about it you're all dressed up with nowhere to go my friend. Your business will sink into oblivion along with all the dreams that you might have realized.

Getting people who are interested in what you have to offer on your website is a difficult mission to say the least. Given the fact that there is so much competition; you really have to know what you're doing in order to survive. There are countless sites that scatter the wastelands because the owners thought that they could just create it and customers would beat a path to their door. You my friend are not going to be among the statistics of failure because I am going to share with you quick ways to drive traffic to your site.

1. You must thoroughly know your market. It is essential that you target those who have a special interest in the subject matter of your website. You do this by careful keyword research. Once a potential customer shows an interest in your website by paying it a visit; you must have content and an offer that shows them that their effort is not wasted. This way, you create a solid customer base.

2. Because search engines are good for driving free targeted traffic, do not overlook them by any means. Having a good page rank is very important in building popularity links, and the use of the right keywords is important to accomplish this goal. Once a website is in the top ten, it's there for everyone that's searching for that particular topic to see.

3. Find other websites that relate to yours and contact the webmasters for possible link exchange partnerships. Establish a rapport and hopefully friendships with fellow webmasters. It is then possible to make reciprocal link exchanges between many webmasters whichever way that is mutually agreeable.

4. Take the time to write articles yourself or outsource this task. This is an efficient way in promoting your website, because good, valued content will lead readers to visit your website out of pure interest in what you have to say.

5. Make sure that you enter into affiliate agreements. Having affiliates to do the work can result in a great deal of traffic directed to your website. Increased sales and credibility is something that you could definitely use; and both you and the affiliate will benefit from the situation.

6. Be sure to use joint venture marketing. This is one of the most helpful ways of promoting a product or a service. Having a partner to do ad swaps or link exchanges with is of enormous value to both parties. It allows the two of you to reach a wide range of customers in a shorter period of time.

7. Through the use an auto responder you can offer newsletters and free gifts to build a list of subscribers. Letting them know about new products and services as they become available can substantially increase your income. You can also use your auto responder to build a rapport, sense of trust and a source of instructions on certain topics.
