In the previous article we discussed the immediate benefits of writing down any of your projects with the idea of publishing it as an eBook. In this article we'll consider several more benefits of eBooks as a publishing option. Before we get hands on about preparing your material and turn it to a sellable eBook, let's talk about several other key points on why you should be publishing an eBook.
Authors Rewards
1. In case of last minute changes, corrections and updates, an eBook can literally be changed on the fly. If you ever have printed anything on paper, a visit card, a flyer or a book only to find an overlooked error, you'll certainly appreciate this feature.
2. eBooks never go out of print. Again if you run out of printed material you have to order more units, pay for them, find storage, etc.
3. Easy distribution. An eBook is distributed as a single file. It doesn't matter if we are talking about a short promo writing for your business, how-to instructions for your customers or a full fledged book. Distribution costs are extremely low too. Just a single file that can be downloaded from the internet or distributed as a CD.
4. The author can sell it-market it all by him/herself, retaining all the benefits, or can set up a net of affiliates promoting their work 24/7/365. In this mode you will be sharing the profits with your working force, but amplifying your sales efforts a hundredfold at least with minimum effort and costs on your side. Hint: there are already several affiliate networks ready to distribute and promote your work.
5. You can even find several online publishers who will sell your eBook for a fee. Just make sure you retain the complete rights to the title--non-exclusive agreements, and can have your eBook sold though several other online publishers. Ain't that smart?
6. You can protect your eBook from being copied or unauthorized distribution. You can even assign how many copies you allow per reader.
Readers Rewards
1. Your eBook is structured exactly like a normal book. That is ist, contains a table of contents, preface, index, etc.
2. Readers taking notes can search the text to quickly find and bookmark key information.
3. Readers can adjust the eBook's font face and size to their liking or simply print it.
4. Portability. With newer available technologies, eBooks can be read anywhere, even in low light or total darkness environments by using the back-lighting features of an eBook reader or mobile devices.
Enough said. By now you should quite clearly see the many advantages that publishing an eBook has. In the next article we will study how to write an eBook on a subject that sells on the Internet.
