Using FREE WordPress Themes To Manage A Website
Written by an artist, not a website designer.
But, like everyone else in business, She needed an up-to-date, good looking website.
Using WordPress to maintain a site had always seemed appealing, but She didn't want a site that looked like a blog.
Then the free magazine-style themes arrived... including Mimbo and Branford Magazine.
Wow! I mean... WOW!
Suddenly, WordPress didn't look like 'just another blog'. She could hardly wait to try it out.
It took her over a week of headaches to figure out how to...
1. Work with WordPress, and then,
2. Get the Branford Magazine theme to look right.
See, She didn't really understand computer code. She knew just enough HTML to get by.
Sure, the theme looked great... but the 'official' instructions to set it up with her articles, her sidebar, and her pictures...
Their instructions just confused the author.She nearly gave up.
Finally, she started reading the right forums. She found a (free) sidebar that actually worked. She learned which free plugins work, and which don't. And, a little at a time, the site started looking good.
She finally figured out how this works!
